Recently, for my PhD dissertation I have written a 200 page book: UNDERSTANDING JAPAN through the Eyes of Christian Faith.
This is a 4 years long research, a book written in a simple language basically covering all the aspects of the Japanese society, designed for
missionaries and mission organizations.

News Items: New Resource for evangelism

Mission:JAPAN NewsAnonymous writes " Dear friends,
I wanted to let you know about two new booklets that have recently been put out in Japanese that may be of help in your evangelism. Both booklets cost 150 yen and both have a gospel presentation in the back.

The first booklet recently completed is entitled "Is there Really a God?" Does God really exist? If so, where did He come from? These questions and more are answered! It takes a rather scientific approach and deals mostly with the question from a scientific point of view so it will probably appeal more to men then to women, but it could be a good way for women to get their husbands to start thinking about this issue. It can be a good discussion starter for men to use with their friends as well. It is also available in English for 70 yen from Answers In Genesis. This is a big issue for most Japanese people and approaching this subject from a variety of angles is important. I think it is a good book to add to your church library and evangelism materials. See the website address below for ordering information.

The second booklet is entitled "Where Did The Races Come From?" It deals with the problem of racism among other things and shows how a proper understanding of origins should elimanate that problem. It shows that we are all from the same lineage reaching back to Adam and Eve. It deals with questions that people have regarding this issue. It tells us what the Bible and real science teach about the origins of people groups: “races”. Genesis has the answer, not evolution!

I personally have had people ask me questions about this issue and I think this booklet will help to encourage our people to trust in the Bible and give them answers for their friends. Probably good as a discussion starter and pre-evangelism. Answers In Genesis also has this booklet available in English for 70 yen a piece. If you want to see a little of the contents of this book in either Japanese or English, please check out these links:

On the existence of God: http://www.answersingenesis.org/docs/3270.asp

There is another booklet coming out soon entitled “Why Is There Death & Suffering?” This too is a big issue in Japan and the biblical answer provided here gives true hope to people. I will let you know when this booklet is completed. In the meantime, if you want to read a copy, order one in English from the website address below.

Here is the website address for Answers in Genesis in Japan: http://www.answersingenesis.org/japanese/

English list of their Japanese materials: http://www.answersingenesis.org/japanese/English/English_info.asp

There are also a series of Question & Answers on the issue of the Bible and science that might be interesting for your people to read for themselves and to recommend to their friends. Web address is: http://www.answersingenesis.org/japanese/q-a/faq/faq.asp

I just had a university student talk to me on Sunday about questions on science and I was happy to be able to refer her to some of these materials.

The e-mail contact for AiG is japan@answersingenesis.org Please address your mail to Mr. Nao Hanada. He can handle mail written in English as well as Japanese. He is the one to contact if you have any questions about AiG and their materials. May God bless each one of you as you seek to exalt His name and proclaim His love and grace.

Together for His glory,

Jim May

 New design for Mission: JAPAN!!

Mission:JAPAN Newsmissionjapan.com has moved to a new Content Management System and has been totally redesigned! Have a look around. We think you will be pleasantly surprised at the amount of function and content we are able to include now!

New features:

-Discussion Forums.
There are several areas where you can join online discussion about topics relative to ministry among Japanese people.

-Web Links.
The Directory of Web Links is no longer the MAIN content of the site, but it is no less important. It is still located on the Home Page and still contains the same content. Know a good site for resources of interest to people ministering among Japanese people? See if it is already in the Links directory. If not, SUBMIT IT! Many will benefit!

-Member's Submissions!
Registered members can submit content to be considered for inclusion on missionjapan.com. If you have an article of interest to the greater community, SUBMIT IT! Others will find it of value.

The bottom line? Have a look around at our new design and our new level of function. We think you will be pleased, and we believe it will be to the greater good! How about you? What do YOU think? Let us know!

:-)
